Army Lists & Campaigns

Find Here the Great Armies of Myth, Legend, Film, and Literature

Army Lists

Here you will find new army lists for the armies of myth, legend, and literature.  These lists are provided by both the writers of DBF and the community.  Please submit your lists to this website for consideration.  We will review them and publish them if we can!

Army Template

This is a simple template with which to format your army lists to send to us for posting on this page.   This will help us to keep your army lists in a standardized format for all to understand.  We do understand however that Chaos gods may dictate format changes.  This is the great battle between Law and Chaos.  The balance of the world hangs in between these two powers!

Song of Thrones

Tom Thomas brings us his Song of Thrones army lists for the Great Houses.  These lists are the basis for the armies of his famous Battle for the Iron Throne campaign he runs at conventions.  The lists are designed for a smaller sized battle that can be completed in about an hour or less.  They also make  armies for the map campaign also featured in the DBF rules.

Wars of the Seven Kingdoms

Once again, France for the win!  Christophe Cabie sends us a great set of lists for the Battles of the Seven Kingdoms.  "You know of whom I speak"- to quote another fantasy character.  These are very well done lists showing the Seven Kingdoms with special rules giving each kingdom their own special flavor.  Well done sir! Though for the life of my I don't know what fantasy series these are from.

Legendary Eastern Europe Lists

These  lists, submitted by Pascal Olivier, cover medieval East European armies like those of the Rus, Poland, Hungarian and the Hussite.   While they contain a number of  excellent fantasy elements, they could be easily used to fight historical battles as well!

Classical Asian Lists

These additional lists cover more of  legendary Classical Asia- complete with more exotic beasts, strange magics and great heroes!  They are authored by Thomas E. Thomas, Tom's son, who helped us greatly during the development  of DBF and who wrote the original lists!

Swords & Sorcery

These lists and the corresponding campaign are based on the old Sword & Sorcery board game by SPI.  The brainchild of Mark Herman and Greg Costikyan, this game was a wonderful  mishmash of fantasy tropes, bad puns, and 70's cultural references.
